My hubby & I had july 4th, how soon can i find out if i'm pregnant?

my last cycle was 6/23/08, no sign as of yet of "aunt flo." I took a ept hpt and it was negative...could it be 2 soon? How long should i wait before i test again? Today is 7/20!
