Why do i feel like i have no friend at all? Why does he want to be friends now?

Like i was sort of dating this guy awhile back. he seemed really into me. i'm cute but i am a nerd. iwas shocked because he was really cute and a pretty boy. He would call me sometimes and have nothing to say. he seemed infatuated with me.anywho he asked me out on a date. we went out and everything but he stopped callin me after. i forgot about him then he called me more. like every day over christmas break. well i was sort of confused by him. Some times he would flirt alot and seemed jealous when i mentioned other guys.so i just talked to him like a friend. i thought we were friends so that is what i called him.he really valued my opinon. he took things i said to heart. but i introduced him to one of my friends. she said he was a player and that he only wanted my virginity.but now she is talking to him.my friend they started to talk and he is taking her out on their second date. why does it seem like he is treating her better. He stopped calling me and now he wants us to be friends..
